In Sync With Asynchronous Embedded Support: Strategies for Implementing Embedded Tutoring in Asynchronous Online Courses

Embedded tutoring is a rapidly growing academic support program most often implemented in face-to-face courses with an active learning classroom environment. Some institutions are experimenting with ways to incorporate this type of support in asynchronous online courses. Learn from a team of embedded tutors and faculty as they share the criteria they developed for selecting asynchronous courses for embedding tutors as well as some implementation strategies.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain embedded tutoring.
- Apply embedded tutoring to online learning.
- Identify criteria for selecting which online courses are good candidates for embedded tutoring.
- Distinguish between effective and ineffective strategies for implementing embedded tutoring in asynchronous online courses.
