Session description:

The 2021 Surgeon General’s Call to Action to fully implement the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention recognizes suicide as a major public health issue and calls for a national response.  Going forward, suicide prevention efforts must engage all sectors, including public health, mental health, health care, social services, service members, veterans, and their families, business, entertainment, media, faith communities, and education. These efforts must be informed by data, guided by the needs of the groups affected, and shaped by the voices of people who have lived experience such as, suicide loss, suicide attempt and other non-fatal suicidal experiences.

This session will inform and engage participants to have a conversation about suicide within their own communities.
