Human Resources and the OTC Center for Academic Innovation are collaborating to offer a variety of professional development opportunities for faculty and staff members across all OTC systems. College Development strives to connect you to helpful resources to enhance your valued role at OTC and further support your professional growth. These resources cover a host of relevant topics including ethical issues, time management and conflict resolution. OTC recognizes three categories of professional development: professional improvement, college/academic involvement and community involvement. Each employee is required to obtain hours from at least two of the categories. For more details, you may review the college’s Professional Development Plan.
Here is an outline of what is required annually:
- Full-time faculty are required to obtain 20 hours of professional development per academic year.
- Full-time staff are required to obtain 10 hours of professional development per calendar year.
- Full-time administrators are required to obtain 20 hours of professional development per calendar year.
- Professional development hours will be noted on the employee’s annual evaluation.
