Event Description:
This two-part workshop will explore strategies for cultivating a classroom climate where students are actively involved, feel heard, and committed to learning. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and activities, participants will explore how relationships and self-regulation impact readiness to learn. Faculty will leave this workshop with strategies for establishing a classroom atmosphere that recognizes mistakes and conflict as an opportunity for personal and academic growth.
Event Objectives:
By the end of this session, faculty will:
- Have a basic understanding of brain states and their impact on learning
- Be able to implement strategies that help students move to an executive brain state and be prepared for learning
