Strategies for Reducing Student Anxiety in the Classroom
November 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Strategies for Reducing Student Anxiety in the Classroom
While stress may be a normal part of college life, it has the potential to negatively affect students’ ability to learn and be successful in the classroom. Faculty and staff can help students by teaching and modeling evidence-based strategies that mitigate student stress and anxiety and enhance student learning and memory. In doing so, we promote student well-being, retention, and academic success.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the systemic and academic effects of student stress and anxiety.
- Compare evidence-based strategies that can be used to reduce student stress and anxiety.
- Evaluate current practices aimed at reducing student stress and anxiety.
