Session Description: Civility in the classroom and among students is essential for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This session will explore strategies for promoting civility, creating a sense of community, and guidelines on how to foster mutual respect among students.
Session Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the role of the instructor in setting the tone for classroom civility and creating a positive learning environment
- Identify common causes of incivility in the classroom
- Explore strategies for promoting civility in the classroom
- Build a support network of colleagues to share ideas and best practices for fostering a civil classroom environment
